Rob van Sante
I can attest that it's an excellent album, full of amazing guitar work, great vocals and wonderfully curated songs.
Jennifer Cutting (Band Leader - Ocean Orchestra).
Rob's new CD is Impeccable, brilliantly put together and technically exquisite. Music, lyrics and composition are to shelf!
Peter Souza (Organiser of shanty sings in Gloucester ME).
A long overdue solo album from my old duo buddy. With a mix of songs old and new from the van Sante repertoire we have, as ever, tasteful guitar, rich vocals and a quality production reaffirming Rob's engineering skill. Add to the mix a few other sounds from Rob and some music mates and we can savour a well crafted album.
Alan Reid (Singer / songwriter and founder member with Battlefield Band).
When my mate and compatriot, Rob van Sante, asked if he could include a couple of my songs on his first solo cd, “For the Love of it All”, I of course agreed - on condition he send me a copy. This he duly did, so, as promised, I wrote and let him know what I Thought when I’d had a listen. Because of the danger that he might quote me I carefully avoided any expletives or expressions of excruciating sycophancy. That said, I found it to be an enjoyable, varied collection of lovely (well, I would say that wouldn’t I!) songs. The album opens with a great, heartfelt rendition of the late, much missed, Tim Wood’s “Freeman” - definitely one of my favourite tracks. The excellent title track “For the Love of it All”, written by Rob(music) and his wife, Janie Meneely (lyrics), deserves its prominence in the collection. Rob’s expressive voice is very well recorded and demonstrates his talent for revealing and presenting the spirit and feeling of a song to its full potential. His team of accompanying musicians have done him great justice with their musicianship and harmony vocals. Together with Rob’s excellent guitar playing, bouzouki, electric bass, drum programming, piano and synth, he has Bob Butterfield on tenor sax, Ciaran Boyle on Bodhran, Tom McConville on fiddle and Janie Meneely, Lynne Hardcastle, Alan Rose and Alistair Russell on backing vocals - these are beautifully executed with feeling and enthusiasm. As for other tracks I had to acclimatise to an unfamiliar version of "Byker Hill”. I had already told Rob how much I liked his version of my “Palestine”, which he performs with feeling, great empathy and lovely harmony. All in all an album that Rob can be proud to present as his “first solo cd”. (Not before time, in my view.) It illustrates the breadth and eclectic nature of Rob’s repertoire and performance. I loved it and am very honoured that two of my own compositions are amongst a group of such excellent songs.

Meneely & Van Sante
The whole record is magical. As well as being an ace guitarist, Rob is also an ace sound engineer and has the means to record, edit, master and produce. The recording quality is faultless, the performances are superb (from both principals and supporters), and the material (eleven by either Janie or Janie and Rob, one by Ian Walker and one by Ewan Carruthers) gives the listener ample entertainment, education and erudition.
